Matter for Consideration: To consider applications under the Area Forum/Ward Grants Schemes. | |
Information: The Council's delegated budgets scheme allocates budgets of £20,000 to each Ward and the Area Forums have been awarded budgets equivalent to £7,500 per ward covered for the financial year 2013/2014. The funding for either scheme can be spent on supplementing funding public services, for the benefit of the local community. Councillors Clapham and H Mitchell of Bispham Ward have requested £2,045.53 for the removal and resiting of an alley gate, posts and panels to a location adjacent to No. 14 Norcliffe Road. Councillors Taylor and Mrs Taylor of Claremont Ward have requested £1,800 for the purchase and installation of bollards to prevent parking on pavements at 308-326 Talbot Road. Councillors Mrs Greenhalgh and Hutton of Clifton Ward have requested £1,500 as a donation to replace worn and broken gardening equipment and to purchase new equipment to increase work ability for adults with learning and physical disabilities based at Cherry Tree Gardens. Councillors Campbell and Doherty of Park Ward have requested £1,000 for combined funding with Layton Ward for a LANPAC crime prevention and personal safety project for cycle coding for children and for reflective/flashing hi visibility protective equipment for primary school age children. Councillors Evans and Stansfield of Stanley Ward have requested £750 for the purchase and installation of signs and lines for “timed” prohibition of waiting and loading on Aysgarth Court, in relation to a Traffic Regulation Order. Councillors Lee and O’Hara of Waterloo Ward have requested £120 to fund two banners to advertise retail businesses for Small Business Saturday and South Beach Pop-up Shop. | |
